What do you mean you need an Alpha? [ Bruce sounds genuinely curious by that admission; he gets the general idea behind it. After all, werewolf lore isn’t exactly exclusive to wherever Stiles is from, and it makes sense that they’d need a pack leader. The issue that Bruce has is less that they need one, and more concern that Stiles wouldn’t be able to make it through without one.

Of all the people dealing with this, Bruce is at least confident that Stiles can make it through. He knows the younger man has problems being the normal one out of everyone he spends time with, but despite that, it probably makes him the most suited to handle this. ]

You know, I’m not one to support revenge, but… it might be the best time to try back at him.

Alpha's--in a pack, they help control the betas. I watched Derek one time just growl at Isaac, and immediately knocked him back. Isaac was out for my blood, and Derek just--did something, and got him to back down.

It was...amazing.

We don't have to have one. Scott never really did...and we managed okay, most of the time.

But right now, there are three of us who have never had abilities before...and Erica, who has never been very good at controlling her blood lust. So it's going to be difficult, you know?

[He let out a breath.]

I think I'll be okay, that I've seen enough from Scott before...but seeing is different than doing.

[There is a long silence when Bruce says that, then finally--]

Everyone thinks I'm a horrible person for continuing to hold this grudge. But he makes me see red as a human, it's even worse, now.

[Horrible might be an exaggeration, but it's just...difficult.]

[ Bruce listens with incredible patience, letting Stiles go on as he considers what the younger man says. It hasn't quite dawned on him that there's a way to control your primal urges through someone else, but now that he thinks about it, it makes sense; Betty had been like that for him, and while he wouldn't call her an alpha per se, Bruce could concede to her. ]

You'll be fine then. It's an even match between the two of you at least. [ He doesn't say 'for once', because it doesn't need to be said. ]

I mean, I'm saying this from personal experience and it's not like it's all that applicable, but still.

You're a good kid, Stiles. Really. Despite whatever doubt you have, it's fine in the end.
